My CP1525nw color printer is leaving magenta streaks on the left of every page I print. I have attempted to clean the printer using the built in clean function several times, I have removed and cleaned the amgenta cartridge, and I have also deleted every single HP piece of software from my machine and reinstalled the drivers for this printer.
Step 2: Check the paper. The quality and type of paper can affect the print job. Follow these guidelines to make sure that the paper is appropriate. If it is not, load an appropriate paper type. Use paper that is designed for use in HP LaserJet printers. Do not use paper that is designed only for inkjet printers.

The printer is HP LaserJet P2055d, and an HP Color LsserJet 4240n. I also was having the same problem with a client's PC printing to a HP Printer on a server share. The computer was a 32 bit Windows 7, with 32 bit Office 2013. The printer was a Laserjet 2300 series using HP Universal Print PCL6 driver. One of my customers has the same problem.
Thank you everyone. Bottom line, the printer was defective and HP thankfully helped me replace the unit. The cartridge that the original unit refused to recognize has been working just fine in the replacement printer. I swapped the cartridges back and forth to check whether the problem stayed with the original unit or followed the cartridge.
Take the toners out then power off the machine and unplug for 10 minutes. Then plug back in and power on, then reinstall the toners. The black lines could be caused by dirty rollers but I have a hunch it is likely a drum unit causing the issue. If the printer has replaceable drums, replacing them could fix the issue.
